Knitting with the Monsters...

My life with two toddlers and two cats, all of whom are out to drive me nuts and destroy my knitting!

Hello, neglected blog reader… Well I thought I’d start off with a little FO for the day:

These are (hopefully) on their way via Royal Mail to my mum in the states as a thank you for helping out at Christmas. They’re also a slightly belated Christmas gift, but I’m sure when her feet are all toasty she won’t care that they were late!

Knitted with Sweet Georgia Speed Demon Sock yarn, color English Bay. Pattern is my own, based on the Sell Your Sole pattern with a link on the Sweet Georgia website. I modified it to include the sweet little cable which is on both sides of the sock, then instead of the flat toe, made it with a round toe. This is the third time I’ve used this pattern as a base, I think by the next modification, it’ll only barely resemble it’s ancestor pattern!

In other knitting news I am nearly finished the top part of the simple knitted bodice. I’m using Malabrigo, which is absolutely amazing. I’m warming my chilly hands underneath the fabric as I knit when I get cold. I wish I could wear it, NOW, but I still have 2/3 left to knit. I’m not so sure about the lace panel, but I’ll soldier on. I’m looking forward to joining and knitting in the round. I LOVE knitting in the round.

Not much else to tell. Christmas is over. Winter has set in. We actually had snow in London. We’ve booked a vacation in Malta for March. Come on Spring!!!

Enough babbling. Night.
